Two wheels bound together by encased bars of some strong, yet light metal. The wind brushes my cheeks so as long as my feet continue pressing downward. Dragonflies have been abundant the past couple of days and to me, they symbolize a sort of freedom with their helicopter wings and focused bodies. Their precision in the open air is what makes these creatures free. Twice, the dragons took the lead in front of my spinning wheels. I wanted to catch them, though as my gaze became narrow and fixated I felt out of control to a degree within the wheels beneath me mostly because I felt a responsibility to remain in the faded bike line for passing vehicles behind. If I were to ride to quickly and topple the dragonfly, the point of fragile freedom would be defeated. So, I began to focus on my own path and just simply be inspired by the dragonflies. Knowing that they are there, knowing that the freedom is there with no worry whether or not I was to catch it. A graceful knowing will keep freedom alive.
